Acceptable Fan Jun 13, 2011
By DSMom Very basic and not really what I wanted. It does do the job, but I expected something a little nicer. Then again, it's good for the price. I would tell anyone else to look elsewhere.

Appropriate quality for price. Apr 30, 2010
By Anonymous The fan closes awkwardly at first, but then more smoothly the more that you use it. The materials used feel flimsy, but if you open it carefully it wont damage it. I ripped the paper in one of the creases when I first opened it, but it was easily repaired with matte tape. I would buy more of these in the future because the design is appealing, and it's more convenient than owning a portable electric fan. I also want to add that one of my fans were warped, but I think that it's because of the nature of bamboo, not because of a design flaw.

"The Continuous Devil's Advocate"
I personally have experience with Chinese fans. I took Kung-Fu for a while and learned how to fight with really awesome looking ones. So when this one arrived, I didn't expect the high quality tough fan I had been used to, but this thing was flimsey as all hell. It still holds it's shape and such but if you opened it too fast or roughly the spines in the middle might break. It is very elegant and made from thin wood, but it doesn't quite open or close that smoothly. Other than that, it's made of paper and would rip if you miss treat it. For my purposes, it was fantastic, albeit not as tough as I would have liked.
